What shall I wear for class?
Gym/fitness/yoga/dance wear like leggings and a t-shirt or other top you feel comfy in and can move freely in is completely fine for your first class with us.
For aerial classes, please wear tight fitting clothing that you can move freely in to prevent your clothes from getting caught on the fabric or hoop. No zips or long sharp nails in fabric class please as these can cause tears to the silks. Please remove all jewellery, especially rings, bracelets and watches so both your valuables and our equipment don’t get scratched or torn.
For Bungee Fitness classes we advise on wearing high waisted leggings and a t-shirt to cover your back to avoid any friction burns that may occur from the harness.
Is there a weight restriction?
All our equipment is load tested right down to the smallest carabiner. We are not joking when we say we could hang a car off our studio ceiling.
However our Bungee Fitness cords and equipment are designed in weight increments and unfortunately does hold a max weight limit of 125 kilos.
Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit for classes and we have students in their 60s flying through the air at our classes! As long as you have no health conditions that prevent you from safely taking part then you are good to go.
Please be aware that participation in all our adult classes requires a minimum age of 16 years. Those aged 16 and 17 years old will need parental consent before taking part in our classes.
Can I get changed at the studio?
Unfortunately there are no changing room facilities at The Stroud Brewery only toilets. Therefore we advise in coming to class already in the clothes you wish to wear.
Is there parking?
Yes there is lots of parking available at The Stroud Brewery
How do I book a class?
We try to make our classes as accessible as possible therefore all our classes can be booked on a drop in basis.
You can get started and book in for your first class whenever you’re ready and on a day and time that is most suitable for you and your schedule.
We also offer 5 and 10 class passes for your flexibility and does make the classes slightly cheaper if you choose this option.
Booking your spot before class starts is vital as we do not take walk ins or cash payments.
I’m struggling to sign up using TeamUp, what should I do?
If you are confused on how to book into classes or finding the booking system a bit clunky, or you’re unsure about how to set up an account, please see these TeamUp help pages.
What happens if I miss a class or need to cancel?
All bookings with Cirque du Dance come under our strict 48 hour cancellation policy. All bookings are strictly non-transferable or refundable outside of this policy.
All our courses once started are non-refundable or transferable under no circumstances.
You can manage your cancellations via the TeamUp Members app or by logging into your TeamUp user account on your browser.
If you cancel a class with more than 48 hours notice from the class start time, your credit will be refunded into your class pass or a refund into your bank account is automatically issued if you booked the session PAYG. Depending on your bank, please allow up to 5 working days for the refund to process and show on your statement.
No refunds of class credits or PAYG payments are available if you cancel with less than the standard 48 hours notice or if a course has already started.
Private lessons are also bound by a 48 hour cancellation period. Some one-off workshops, events and photoshoots will incur individual cancellation policies, which are issued by the individual facilitator and clearly stated at the time of booking on our booking system.
How many people are in class?
Aerial Circus: Our regular group classes are capped by the number of aerial rigging points available. We want to ensure the quality of our classes and teaching standards are high and your teacher’s attention is equally available to all student during our classes.
We therefore only allow a maximum of 2-3 people per aerial equipment.
Bungee Fitness: Due to the rigging points available we can only take 8 people in each Bungee Fitness Class. One person to each Bungee cord.
It is therefore vital that you book your space in class beforehand as spaces are very limited.
Will I be sore after class?
Aerial Circus: It is completely normal to feel a bit sore after your first or second aerial circus class. The aerial hoop is made of metal and therefore can cause some bruising depending on the moves you are learning. Please don’t be alarmed by this. This happens due to the soft tissue pressing against the metal of the hoop.
Bungee Fitness: Due to the nature of the equipment the Bungee Fitness Harness can cause some friction and bruising in the beginning especially around the ribs or the groin area. This is why we recommend wearing suitable clothing for our classes. You should get used to the feeling of the harness over time and therefore it should become more comfortable to wear. If you are experiencing a lot of pain please speak to your instructor directly who will be able to advise on a few tips and tricks that should hopefully help.
Can I bring a friend to class?
For our regular adult classes, we do not allow spectators to sit in and watch. Carers and chaperones are of course welcome to sit in and support where necessary.
Can I come to class if I’m pregnant?
Cirque du Dance does offer tuition for pregnant clients. We would need you to have been consistently coming to our aerial classes for at least three months before we can carry on during pregnancy.
If you attend our Bungee Fitness classes please speak to your instructor directly who can advise you further. Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can advise you on which class is best for you going forward,
Please remember that our classes are more high risk than other forms of exercise.
After baby is here, we advise you to chat with your doctor or nurse for clearance to exercise before returning to, or starting up aerial or bungee fitness training.
If you are postnatal, please chat to us before signing up to classes, and similar to training during pregnancy, we can then advise you on which class is best to attend.
Can Men attend our classes?
Absolutely! Aerial and Bungee Fitness classes have so many benefits for every body and should be enjoyed by all!
